It’s now time to start planning your staff for the 2010-2011 school year.
1) Begin your recruiting campaign for new staffers (see “Now: Recruiting”)
2) Assess your current staff for rising editors (see “NOW: Survey“)
3) Meet with each returning staffer
- Review Survey
- Provide Returning Application (see “Now: Recruiting”)
- Provide Graphics Portfolio Project (see “NOW: Portfolio”)
- Assign a 3rd/4th Quarter Task (see “NOW: Jobs”)
4) After last deadline, hold editor interviews (see “NOW: Questions”)
5) Begin working on theme packets
6) Prepare editors for Editor Bring it Day, May 15, at Oakton HS (more information to come!)
7) Prepare editors and campers for GYE

- Fairfax County Advisers — Thursday, February 4 — Meet at the Chevvy’s at 50 and Gallows Road for a recruitment brainstorming session (and drinks). Brainstorming begins at 3:30. Watch for the evite when Kara returns from Disney World.
- Loudoun County Advisers — Thursday, February 11 — Meet at the Panera in Ashburn for a recruitment brainstorming session (and lattes and cookies). Brainstorming begins at 4:30. Watch for the evite when Kara returns from Disney World.
- Saturday, May 15 — We will host a special one-day training for all new editors. This is a chance to get them started on the right foot in knowing what is expected of them and what it will take for their 2011 book to be as amazing as it can be. More information to follow.
